Join the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department on December 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for the City Park’s first Winter Spark Holiday Market and Festival located at City Park.

A 1 mile “Jingle Bell Jog” family run / walk around City Park will take place on the morning of this inaugural event. The run / walk is open to youth and adults, runners and walkers, and is free to participate.
Participants must check in at 8:30 am in front of the municipal swimming pool building in City Park. The run / walk will begin at 9:15 am Participants can compete for the top prize or enjoy a holiday-themed walk with other community members before the start of the Winter Spark event. All entrants will receive Jingle Bell pins. Prizes will be presented at 9:45 a.m. for the following divisions:
Best finisher in the Teen / Adult division (13 years and over)
Best finisher in the Tween division (9-12 years old)
Best finalist in the youth division (8 years old and under)
Participant with the best holiday themed costume
Giant snowman competition without snow
The Giant Snowless Craft Snowman Contest allows participants to build a snowman with craft supplies, wood, cardboard, foam board and other store bought or recycled products for a chance to win a prize. All accepted entries will be on display at the Winter Spark event in the Snowman Sculpture Garden, where visitors will have the opportunity to judge their favorites. Entries for this contest must be submitted prior to the event and must be sent no later than December 1.
Wonderful Winter Wonderland Art Show
Children 12 and under are invited to help spread the holiday cheer in the community by participating in the Winter Wonderland Wonderful Art Show. Entrants can submit drawings, paintings or other forms of artwork that will be on display during the Winter Spark event, where visitors will have the opportunity to judge their favorites. The categories will be determined by the artist’s age and the type of art submission. Entries for this contest must be submitted prior to the event and must be sent no later than December 1.
Entries for the Snowman Contest and Art Show must be made with an appropriate entry form to the Bowling Green Community Center, 1245 W. Newton Road, by December 1st.
