Local art, historic details and woven Art Deco inspired elements evoke a sense of old world and modern luxury. The rooms feature Virgin Hotels signature layouts with two distinct spaces. The walk-in closet includes a full dressing table, a make-up desk with a well-lit mirror, an extra-large shower with a bench complemented with Red Flower toiletries and a closet for two. The living room features the brand’s patented ergonomically designed lounge bed with ingot fringed trim, a red SMEG® mini fridge filled with street-priced comforts, HDTV, a yoga mat and a coffee work table with rattan base and tempered glass placed in front of a comfortable built-in window offering a view of the city. Designed to make the most of the space and promote guest privacy, each bedroom is separated by a pair of panel doors, a nod to French doors as commonly seen in New Brunswick design. The restaurant, bar and lounge experiences invite locally influenced food and drink featuring contemporary Southern cuisine with Mediterranean influences. In addition, a full range of curated music and entertainment experiences will launch a solid, continuous entertainment program comprised of local and national musical acts and performances, game day programming, themed brunches, and more. .
Harrell also supervises The pool club, an intimate tropical and lush space, and Dreamboat, a 13th-floor lounge bar with sophisticated design elements including a double-sided fireplace evoking a moody and cozy experience. The rooftop pool and lounge will provide a peaceful haven overlooking the New Orleans skyline where guests and locals can dine, drink, dance, or relax.
Besides, Virgin Hotels New Orleans is at home for Funny library cafe located on the first floor of the hotel. The cafe is a common workspace with an assortment of whimsical and fun games and books selected from local bookstores. The cozy space is done in dark wood and resembles a classic bookcase while mixing eclectic furnishings and playful elements like mixed patterns and bright colors. Additionally, the Funny Library Coffee Shop will serve coffee from La Colombe, which will feature classic signature blends.
The hotel also has a bright and airy state-of-the-art 3rd-floor fitness center open 24 hours a day, and 5,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.

New Orleans design firm Logan Killen Interiors was contracted to organize the hotel interiors in accordance with Virgin Hotels’ localized design approach. The company’s experience in residential and commercial commercial projects has made it the ideal choice for creating welcoming and comfortable environments, with local touches, historical details and a nod to the history of Art. New Orleans decor. Incorporating a southern residential feel while combining colorful and tropical architectural motifs, the team also took a look at Virgin’s fun and clever design style. Local influences are found everywhere, with commissioned work from local artists including playful murals in every room by New Orleans artist Jen Talton, local art students in The Shag Room, works by photographer Augusta Sagnell and an abstract painting by the talented Ansley Givhan. The artwork helps create the “home away from home” atmosphere that permeates the hotel.
The hotel is being developed by Buccini / Pollin Group, who selected Mathes Brierre Architects, CallisonRTKL Architects and Broadmoor Construction to complete the hotel.
