West Fine Art Show in-person exhibition and fundraising draws crowds carefully left behind – Aldergrove Star
A comeback to an in-person event carefully watched by the West Fine Art Show and a charitable fundraiser at the Glass House Estate Winery in Aldergrove drew good turnout, said organizer and co-founder, historic landscape painter Brian Croft .
“A lot of people are buying, a lot of paintings are peeling off the walls,” Croft summed up the three-day event that ended on Sunday, September 19.
“Sales have been good.”
Social distancing and other COVID precautions were being tracked, with numbers carefully monitored, Croft told the Langley Advance Times.
“We are watching him very closely,” Croft remarked, but they were only forced to delay admission to keep the numbers within limits once.
“Just for a few minutes.”
Today, Sunday was the last day of the show at Glass House, 23449 0 Ave, open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Artists include Croft, Brent Cooke, Jodie Blaney, John Ferrie, Richard Brodeur, Emily Lozeron, Lorn Curry, Joyce Trygg, Jim Pescott, Ken Nash, Graham McKenzie, Felicity Holmes, Serge Dube, Alison Philpott, Drew Keilback, Judy Vanderveen, Catherine Traynor, Victor Gligor, Patricia Falck and Lizete Dureault.
Music was also provided throughout the weekend by Langley guitarist John Gilliat.

A portion of the proceeds from the fall event will go to support the Langley Hospice Society.
Admission is free, but donations to the association are welcome.
Last year alone, the September show raised over $ 10,000 for the charity, bringing contributions to date to over $ 70,000 for palliative care.
An early spring show (scheduled to take place virtually this year for the first time) raises funds for the Langley School District Foundation, as well as a show held from mid-May to late May in conjunction with the Cloverdale Rodeo (which was canceled this year) and generally benefits the CHILD Foundation.
